Create a pattern

From your first idea to your own counted chart: draw with DMC thread colours, add shapes and lettering, and arrange your motif on multiple layers.

  • Choose your grid size – up to 200 × 200 stitches.
  • Design with a pencil, shapes and different fonts, move elements and edit layers.
  • Save to My patterns in your account, edit later and start in stitching mode.

Convert image

Turn your photo or illustration into a cross-stitch pattern. Choose the size and number of colours; the converter creates a grid with a matching thread key.

  • Choose and crop an image and set your pattern size.
  • Reduce the colours and choose a suitable thread palette.
  • Check the result, print as a PDF or start stitching straight away.

Fabric and thread calculator

Plan your materials before your first stitch. Use the stitch count and fabric count to calculate the design size, fabric cut with margins and estimated thread requirements.

  • Enter the width and height in stitches or use your current design.
  • Choose Aida, linen or evenweave and your preferred margin.
  • Get design dimensions in centimetres and inches and an estimate of thread skeins.

Import PDF

Import digital PDF counted charts (e.g. Heaven and Earth Designs) as interactive projects into your studio.

  • Upload PDF chartpack – multi-page counted charts are assembled seamlessly.
  • Automatically detect chart symbols and DMC embroidery thread legend from the document.
  • Save as a protected, private pattern in your studio and stitch interactively.
